TheVirtualBabysitter provides interactive sessions to keep your child entertained. It is adaptable to the times and unique in its approach to interacting with children. It is a way to give parents a break with screen time they need not feel guilty about.
How it Started
The idea for TheVirtualBabysitter emerged from a request from a babysitting client to entertain their child remotely at the height of the pandemic. Through trial and error, I found effective ways to keep children engaged, learning, and laughing virtually, much to the delight of both children and especially their parents.
With more people working from home, the service grew, because while most of the world came spinning to a halt, their children would not stop spinning. The pandemic has changed our day to day lives. The accessibility of TheVirtualBabysitter aids in reducing travel time to classes and instead can be done from the comfort of your home. Additionally, TheVirtualBabysitter has been a great way to keep children occupied while parents have last minute meetings!
TheVirtualBabysitter is a service that is adapted to the times and aims to be of service to families wherever they are in the world. Whether it is entertaining a child in a Storytelling session, or connecting friends living abroad through a Party session. Combining my experience with children and my professional acting training, I have the tools to craft a unique service that is tailored to every child.

who is thevirtualbabysitter?
Hello! My name is Selma, the founder of TheVirtualBabysitter. I graduated with a BA degree in Acting from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2019.
I spent years babysitting, teaching and entertaining children in between auditions.
I believe the role of a babysitter is not to just “watch someone’s kid” but to be a role model with the power to influence. It is for this reason that I continue to meticulously prepare bespoke babysitting sessions to cater for the child’s interests and needs.
It is when a child no longer refers to me as “the babysitter” but as “Selma, my friend” that I know I have done my job!
